The K-01 incorporates a plethora of advanced controls and features that enthusiasts and pros will enjoy, while at the same time the camera boasts user-friendly options like Smart Auto and various Scene modes. Another very impressive feat for Pentax with the K-01 is the camera’s lens mount system. Instead of having to design a whole new mount system for it’s small frame, Pentax has implemented their dSLR K-mount system into the K-01′s compact body. This means you can use any Pentax K-mount lens with the K-01; a very appealing feature to those who already have an investment in Pentax glass.

The 110 HS focuses on being super slim while still offering 16-megapixels, a DICIG 5 processor, and Intelligent IS. The 520 HS holds the top-of-the-line spot in the ELPH series, with a 10-megapixel (1/2.3″) CMOS HS sensor, DIGIC 5 processor, 12x optical zoom lens (largest zoom ever on an ELPH), and a new 3.0-inch LCD screen with 460k dots. Lastly, Canon has unveiled their latest G-series prosumer camera; the G1X. Undoubtedly the most powerful PowerShot camera ever developed, the G1X boasts some impressive new features, with the spotlight shinning on the camera’s new 14.3-megapixel, 1/1.5″ CMOS HS sensor. This new image sensor is approx. 18.7x14mm, placing it between a Micro Four Thirds and APS-C sensor in terms of size, and it includes the same CMOS technology found in Canon’s EOS line of dSLRs. Most all of the other G-series features have been carried over from the PowerShot G12, with a few additional upgrades; such as the same articulating 3.0-inch LCD found on the Rebel T3i, a new pop-up flash unit, Full 1080p HD video at 24fps, and a DIGIC 5 processor to name a few. Kodak has just taken one more step
towards avoiding bankruptcy by selling off its sensor business to a
company called Platinum Equity. Kodak says that the new owners are
committed to making a successful company for both shareholders and
employees.

For their part, Kodak is hoping that
having some extra cash on hand will be able to get them back to
stability. “This sale maximizes shareholder value by obtaining
a full and fair valuation for this business,” says Kodak VP
Pradeep Jotwani, “and allows Kodak to increase its financial
flexibility.”
