One of the big trends at CES 2012 is
the addition of Wi-Fi and social networking capabilities to entry and
mid-level cameras and camcorders. We think it’s a nice step forward
and Sony seems to think so too as they’ve announced the Bloggie Live,
which offers the ability to upload to sites like Facebook, YouTube
and PlayMemories Online.
The Bloggie Live gives you 1080p Full
HD video and can take 12.8 megapixel stills – a bit more than we’re
used to seeing from pocket camcorder. It sports a stereo microphone
and a 3″ capacitive touchscreen.
Sony also points out that the Bloggie
Live plays nice with personal Wi-Fi hotspots and is teaming with
Verizon to help promote the pairing. If you pick up a Verizon
Jetpack Mobile Hotspot and a Bloggie Live you’ll get a $50 debit
card.
The Bloggie Live is available now for
preorder
on Amazon at a price of $249. Sony says to expect it later this
month.
