There’s no question that Facebook is
the single most popular photo sharing site online, but it also hosts
the largest collection of photos anywhere in the world. It dwarfs
the Library of Congress, stomps all over Instagram and buries Flickr.
Saying that Facebook is big is one
thing, and we can talk about the 140 billion photos on the service
all we want but these numbers feel abstract. Taking a look at an
infographic from 1000memories
really puts it all in perspective.
That big pink box? That’s Facebook.
Those incredibly small boxes in the lower left hand corner are
Flickr, Instagram and the barely visible Library of Congress. We’re
willing to bet that the Library of Congress still wins out in the
quality department though.
